2012年是中国石化建设世界一流能源化工公司的启航之年。面对比预期更加严峻的经营形势，集团公司全体员工团结一心、迎难而上，奋力拼搏、攻坚克难，生产经营实现稳中有进，原油天然气产量、原油加工量、成品油和化工产品经营量均稳定增长，安全环保、节能减排、科技创新、管理创新、队伍建设等各方面工作都取得新进步。在海外，权益油气储量、产量、收入、利润再上新台阶，炼化和仓储设施加快布局，石油工程和炼化工程承包持续增长，国际贸易能力进一步增强。同时，我们在海外认真履行社会责任，为所在国和当地社会经济发展、扩大就业、改善民生、培养人才、保护环境等方面做出了积极贡献。这些成绩令人鼓舞、来之不易，饱含着你们的智慧和汗水，也凝结着你们家人的理解和支持。无论是远离祖国和亲人的中国籍员工，还是加入中国石化大家庭的外国籍员工，大家都克服了语言、文化、环境等许许多多困难，为中国石化海外事业的发展付出了辛勤努力，我们衷心感谢大家！

Dear overseas colleagues,
As we embrace the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival, please allow me, on behalf of SINOPEC, to send you and your families warmest greetings and best wishes.
Year 2012 marks the beginning of our voyage to building a world leading energy and chemical corporation. We acted together in the face of severe market challenges and achieved new progress on all fronts. We recorded steady growth in oil and gas production, refining throughput, output and sales of refined oil products and chemicals. Remarkable achievements were made in HSE, energy conservation, R&D, management innovation and human resources development. Outside China, our revenue and profit hit new high. Overseas refining and storage projects accelerated, petroleum and petrochemical services expanded, trading and supply further grew. More importantly, as a responsible corporate citizen, we powered host countries’ social and economic development by creating more jobs, sponsoring social welfare programmes, training local people, and protecting the environment.
These encouraging achievements were not made easy. They would not have been possible without your hard work and dedication, or the kind understanding and support from your families. SINOPEC is a big family with members of different nationalities. Each and every one of you overcame numerous challenges in languages and cultural differences to grow our businesses and build our images. We at the headquarters deeply appreciate your contribution.
We expect still challenging environment to meet operational targets this year. I encourage you to forge ahead, being confident, progressive, innovative and pragmatic for even greater success. I also hope that you would practice our business principle of integrity, win-win, and low carbon growth concept. You are ambassadors of SINOPEC, and you share the responsibility of promoting harmonious development of host countries, communities, partners, employees and the environment.
